The lake area and its three islands

Cortona

The town is perched high on a hill overlooking the whole of the Valdichiana, affording stunning views of Lake Trasimeno. Cortona boasts a wealth of cultural, artistic and architectural sights and attractions. Its MAEC museum showcases important archaeological finds from all main etruscan areas in the surroundings whilst the Museo Diocesano is home to the Annunciazione by Fra Angelico.
